Top 8 Questions We Need Answered in Star Wars The Bad Batch Season 2

Hot on the heels of its Star Wars Celebration panel, Lucasfilm has released a trailer for the second season of its animated series “Star Wars: The Bad Batch”.

Serving as a sequel and spin-off to Dave Filoni’s “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and an ‘ending’ to the era of the prequels, the story follows the elite commando unit known as Clone Force 99 whom are all voiced by Dee Bradley Baker alongside Michelle Ang as Omega. In the new run, we can the Empire is continuing its expansion plans and we see both Emperor Palpatine and even a Rookie with a lightsaber.

With season 2 not scheduled for release until fall 2022, a few of us are probably doing another rewatch of the series, poring over little detail as all Star Wars fans like to do. Now that we have had time to digest the series a bit, a few questions may have come up. There are a few loose threads left hanging at the end of season 1 that we hope will be addressed in the upcoming season (and perhaps in future seasons after). Here are a few questions that are still nagging our minds.

Is The Bad Batch the beginning of the end?

Questions fans need to know from next season

There is no doubt that Rex, Trace, and Rafa are up to something bigger. Eventually, they will want payback on the Empire for everything that was taken from them.

Will there be clones of Omega?

Omega is a new character who was introduced in the first season of the series. The history of Omega is still a bag full of mysteries. As the story goes on, it turns out that she’s the last achievable source of Jango’s DNA. Therefore, fans will like to know if any other Omega clones appear on the show.

here Is Commander Wolffe?

Another key Clone in both The Clone Wars and Rebels was Commander Wolffe. This no-nonsense soldier was gruff, humorless, and loved a good fight. But there is a massive gap in his story that can no longer be ignored.

How he survived the Order 66 era has never been discussed. And how he eventually ended up living with Gregor and Rex on Seelos is an even bigger mystery. He hasn’t been mentioned on The Bad Batch, yet, but he has to appear at some point.

Why did Hunter choose not to go with Rex?

Questions fans need answers

Right after Rex found out that his old friends were still alive and weren’t under any influence of the Empire, he met with the Bad Batch to help them remove their behavioral modification chips. Later, when Rex asked them to join him, Hunter refused. So season 2 needs to deliver a significant reason for fans to understand why Hunter choose to reject.

Will Maul be involved with Ahsoka Tano’s inevitable appearance in season 2?

Questions Fans need answers

We have all seen Maul always find his way through everything. He kept reappearing everywhere until Obi-Wan Kenobi finally put him down in Rebels. Fans are waiting to see his involvement with Ahsoka Tano’s appearance in season 2.

What is the deal with Gregor? Fans need the answer in season 2

Gregor doesn’t seem to belong in the storyline as his whole journey has been distracting. After appearing as an Elite clone commando in The Clone Wars, he suddenly died but made unexpected comebacks in Rebels and The Bad Batch without any specific reason. At some point, fans need the answers about him.

What Was Happening At The Other Clone Facility?

Season 1 featured the return of another fan favorite from The Clone Wars, the bounty hunter Cad Bane. He was hired to retrieve Omega from the Bad Batch and bring her back to Kamino. It didn’t work out for him in the end but fans were still happy to see Bane back in the game.

The exchange between Cad Bane and the Kaminoans was to take place on an abandoned cloning facility above Bora Vio. But what, or who, was being cloned there was never discussed. This was the first and only time a cloning facility off of Kamino has ever been shown. That will require an explanation.

Why Ahsoka Tano disappeared in The Bad Batch?

Fans have been speculating over the current status of Ahsoka Tano. Being one of the most prominent characters in the history of the Star Wars Universe, the disappearance of Ahsoka within the timeline of The Bad Batch and Captain Rex factoring into the series did not seem right. Furthermore, she has been one of the most important characters in The Clone Wars, appearing in both The Rebels and The Mandalorian. Hence fans are expecting that season 2 will reveal her current status.
