Everything to Know About ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 3 So Far

Spoilers ahead for Emily in Paris Season 2

Emily faces several life-changing decisions at the end of Emily in Paris Season 2. Should she stay with Savoir and return to America as planned, or should she join Sylvie’s marketing start-up and put her roots down in Paris? Should she pursue a long-distance relationship with Aflie, or make another play for Gabriel even though he’s once again back with Camille?

But will get all those questions answered in season 3? Here’s what we know so far.

Lucien Laviscount Upped To Series Regular, Reprising Alfie Role In Season 3

Emily’s love life will continue to be complicated in Darren Star’s Netflix dramedyEmily In Paris. Lucien Laviscount, who played Emily’s (Lily Collins) Season 2 love interest Alfie, will be back next season and has been promoted to a series regular. The announcement was made during Emily In Paris‘ panel at Paley Fest.

Has the Show Been Renewed?

Good news, Emily in Paris fans: it looks like Emily Cooper’s (Lily Collins) extended stay in the City of Love will be much longer than we anticipated! The series, which has turned out to be one of Netflix’s most talked-about shows, has been renewed for both a third and fourth season, according to the streamer. So get ready for more Parisian adventures with Emily and friends, because there’s plenty more ahead!

When is Emily in Paris season 3 out?

For now Netflix has only confirmed season 3 is happening, but it hasn’t given a release date. Emily in Paris season one first appeared on Netflix at the end of 2020, with season 2 following in December 2021.

There’s a chance therefore, that we could see season 3 debut before the end of 2022, though it may be very close to the end of the year rather than anytime soon.

It’s reported by Variety that season 3 will start shooting in Spring or Summer this year at Studios of Paris, though other locations are also being considered, including London.

Who is in Emily in Paris Season 3?

Of course, Lily Collins aka Emily will be back to reprise her leading role.

In a post on Instagram, Lily expressed her delight at the show returning for both seasons 3 and 4, saying, “I can’t tell if Emily would love or hate this announcement outfit, but she’d be screaming either way. Truly love you all, thanks so much for the incredible support. Seriously cannot wait for more. Merci Beaucoup!!…”

Comments on the post hint at returning cast members too, with Ashley Park (Mindy), Camille Razat (Camille), and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie) all leaving messages of excitement.

The returning cast seemingly hangs alongside Emily’s decision on whether to join Sylvie’s new company or take the promotion for Savoir in Chicago. And, whether she continues her relationship with Alfie as he returns to London.

We also hope to see more of Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), and Kate Walsh (Madeleine).

What to expect from Emily in Paris season 3?

Emily has some major choices ahead of her in the next season, in particular over her career and love life.

After Emily’s boss Madeline arrived from the US, she immediately got into an argument with Sylvie, who ultimately left Savoir to start her own marketing firm. In the process, Sylvie offered Emily a position at the firm, which leaves Emily to decide between staying in Paris or continuing chasing her promotion in Chicago. Given the name of the series, we expect Emily to stay in the City of Light.

Emily is also suffering from lessons in love and friendship as she struggled to decide between dishy British banker Alfie, or the handsome Gabriel. Alfie wants to commit to a long-distance relationship with Emily, however, still holds onto her feelings for Gabriel, and was about to express those feelings to him before it was revealed he is back with his ex, Camille.

Camille getting back together with Gabriel is a huge betrayal of trust and her friendship with Emily as the pair previously promised they would each stop their pursuit of Gabriel for the sake of their friendship. But with Camille’s betrayal, will Emily now step up her own pursuit of Gabriel, and will the pair be able to keep their hands off each other?

When could we expect to see Emily in Paris season 3 on Netflix?

Assuming that there would be no delays to any of the production then we could see the third season on Netflix before the end of 2022.

The second season was filmed in early May and wrapped by the end of July. If the series follows a similar schedule then expect a late 2022 or early 2023 release.
