Cobra Kai Season 4 has a lot of explaining to do. The Karate Kid spinoff series follows Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) 35 years after the events of the 1984 film as they pass on their karate knowledge to a new generation. Season 3 evoked a rollercoaster of emotions and dropped plenty of surprising twists, leaving many fans eager to see where the story will go.
Here are three major questions fans need answered in Cobra Kai Season 4 and theories might go.
Who is Miguel’s real father?
The true identity of Miguel’s as-yet-unidentified father may also be revealed in season 4. As pointed out by 80sKids, Miguel’s absentee father mirrors several other characters in the “Karate Kid” universe, including most notably Daniel LaRusso himself. All we know of Miguel’s father so far is that, according to Carmen, she was deceived into marrying him when she was 18 and pregnant, and when she discovered his true nature, was forced to flee to America. According to ScreenRant, the identity of this as-yet-unidentified man may be an original “Cobra Kai” character, or someone viewers already know, such as Mike Barnes – the karate fighter hired by Terry Silver to beat Daniel in “The Karate Kid Part III” – or even Terry Silver himself.
What trouble will Terry Silver cause with John Kreese in ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 4?
Those who watched The Karate Kid III may remember the villain, Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith). The film revealed that the corrupt, wealthy businessman bought Cobra Kai Dojo for Kreese, his long-time friend. Kreese struggled to pay rent after Daniel’s 1984 All Valley Tournament win ruined his reputation as a sensei, but Terry refused to let him leave the business.
Instead, Terry sent Kreese on a vacation and started a revenge plot against Daniel. He tricked Daniel into training with him but used violent techniques that led Daniel to injury.
In Cobra Kai Season 3, viewers learned that Kreese and Terry, also known as “Twig,” met in the Vietnam War. Kreese saved Terry’s life, which explained Terry’s loyalty to his friend. The finale showed Kreese giving “Twig” a call, setting the stage for Terry’s possible return. The showrunners later confirmed that Griffith will reprise his role in Cobra Kai Season 4.
Seeing Terry again might bring up some negative memories for Daniel, which could throw him off his game. Plus, Kreese has already caused enough harm, so joining forces with Terry will likely make things even worse. Many fans can only imagine what kind of trouble they’ll cause in training Johnny’s son, Robby (Tanner Buchanan).
Will history repeat itself at the All Valley Tournament?
The recurring theme of Cobra Kai is history repeating itself, albeit with a few twists. So, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see a student of Daniel’s take down a student of Kreese’s, just as Daniel himself did to Johnny all those years ago. However, now that Robby is training under Kreese, it’s difficult to say what Daniel and Johnny will do to protect Robby from harm.
Will Robby Keene Strike A Romance With Tory Nichols?
Robby and Tory have since broken up with their exes, and their breakup has fueled even more rage for them to win the upcoming All-Valley Tournament. Despite their messy breakups, they formed a friendship in season 3 since they both have many things in common, including their troubling past and unfair treatments.
Of course, such friendship was likely hinting at a romance brewing between the two heartbroken souls. It seems now that the speculations are coming true based on two short clips, including Robby looking at Tory and Robby dancing with a girl who is likely Tory at a school dance. While this relationship seems inevitable, it will be awkward when they encounter their exes.
How Will Daniel React When He Learns About Terry Silver’s Return?
Daniel has quite a history with many Cobra Kai members. However, the one interaction he won’t ever forget is with Terry Silver. In The Karate Kid Part III, Daniel had joined Cobra Kai briefly as Terry’s student while training behind Mr. Miyagi’s back, even though it was to sabotage them and rebuild Cobra Kai’s reputation.
With Terry Silver returns, it leaves some curiosity about how Daniel will react to it. It may trigger some emotional trauma, given how terrifying those moments were to him in Karate Kid movies and how Daniel will confront this past with people he trusts, like Amanda and Sam.
Will Mike Barnes Return?
While Terry Silver was officially confirmed to return, it is unknown if his associate Mike Barnes could also appear. Like Terry, Mike was introduced in Part III as Daniel’s challenger at the All-Valley Tournament. Under the mentorship of Terry, Mike scarred Daniel during the competition despite losing to him at the end.
Because Terry and Mike’s introduction occurred synchronously, many fans wonder if season 4 could also see Mike’s return as another teacher. Mike also suffered a similar consequence that Terry and Kreese experienced, so he likely has unfinished business and wants revenge against Daniel in some form. Although it is uncertain if he would ever appear, it will be one that fans will carefully watch when season four premiere.
