1 cup shredded cheese (American, Gruyere or Jarisberg)
We’ll start with the two slices of toast. lay the two bottoms in-to-in, so it kind of opens like a book. you’ll want to take your mayo and spread it on both sides of the toast.
Next we add the cheese. you want to take a little bit of cheese and make an even layer on one side of the sandwich.
You’ll want to close the book. close the sandwich just like that, tucking in the cheese as much as you can. on one side you’re gonna want to take the butter and spread it on top of the sandwich.
Now this part’s important. take the sandwich and lay the butter side directly onto the parchment paper. this’ll kind of act as the pan on the stovetop. on the topside of the sandwich now, spread more butter so that it browns on the top too.
Next, it’s into the oven. at 350 degrees, it’ll cook for maybe fifteen minutes, or until it’s golden brown on top.
