Building the Brooklyn Bridge, 1871

Building the Brooklyn Bridge, 1871

Siena takes us to the Brooklyn Bridge where architectural historian, Justin Ferate, gives us the facts on how and why this beautiful bridge was created.  Back in the 19th century, the East River, which connects Manhattan and Brooklyn, was a tremendous shipping canal.  The people needed to find a way to connect the two cities and still allow for all the ships to enter the harbor.
