My name is Rachel and I plan on majoring in broadcast journalism in college.
When I was in 5th grade I began watching the news in depth. I knew that I wanted to be a broadcaster when I was watching Darlene Rodriguez broadcast the news on, "Today in New York," and knew that I wanted to be just like her one day. From then on I have been blogging, writing for my school newspaper, and am now one of the editors for my school newspaper. Broadcasting is my absolute dream.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing tennis, softball, and golf. I have been the pitcher since 9th grade on my varsity softball team and have been second singles since 9th grade on my varsity tennis team. Every time I step onto the field or court, I always learn to keep my head up when I am down a run or down a set. The reason I love sports so much is because in the broadcasting field, confidence is key and sports has built up my confidence completely.
Thank you for reading my bio and keep tuning into Teen Kids News!
