Hi, my name is Eric and I am going into my junior year of high school. I became interested in journalism and broadcasting in 8th grade when I had the opportunity to be an anchor for our middle school’s morning show. After that, I decided to take courses like film studies and T.V. Production in high school to learn more about the fascinating field.
Outside of my reporting job I love to play tennis, spend time with friends and family, and travel. I played singles for my high school team this past year and plan on continuing throughout the rest of high school. I am also involved in student government at my school and am VP of my class. I love being involved in other activities and trying new things. In school, my favorite subject is history because I love to learn about the past and consider how we can learn from previous successes or mistakes for the future.
I would have to say that my favorite report that I have done for Teen Kids News was Tips for Teen Reporters. For this video I was able to interview TV news broadcaster, Mr. John Seigenthaler, about his suggestions for entering into the journalism business. This was not only helpful to me for my future broadcasting endeavors, but hopefully for many other teens who have been looking for a way to follow this dream.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little about me! Keep tuning into the show and exploring the Teen Kids News website!
